Without a mailing list in your own business blogging, it is means that you are wasting your advertising efforts. But which autoresponder should you use to build your list and how do you set it up? Here I use getresponse for my autoresponder, and here are the steps I used to set it up.

  1. Autoresponder Step #1: Sign-Up
    The first step in using getresponse to build your mailing list is to sign-up for an account. Here the advantage that we can get from getresponse is we can try free account with max 100 subcribers and 1000 emails per month. So if you are just starting to build your mailing list, you can use free account from getresponse. After you get more subcribers into your account you can upgrade into paid member without loosing your subcribers.
  2. Autoresponder Step #2: Create A List And A Confirmation Email
    Once you have signed up for getresponse free account, you need to create a list. A list is a way to separate your subscribers. Most people starting out will just need to create one list. But if you promote multiple products you will need multiple lists, then you can create as many as you like. Once you have created your lists, you should write the confirmation emails that will be sent to subscribers to confirm their subscription. Getresponse will use a default confirmation email, but you need to make this confirmation email much more personal so people will confirm their subscription.
  3. Autoresponder Step #3: Create Follow-Up Messages
    Follow-up messages are messages that are sent to each list. You can create as few or as many follow-up emails as you would like. As you create these emails, you will also create the schedule that these emails will be sent. For example, you can easily send a follow-up email 1 day after your subscriber signs-up and then send other follow-up emails once or twice a week after that. The schedule is totally up to you.
